World Famous Whale Watching

San Diego's coastline is a prime spot for observing gray whales during their migration period. Each year, over 20,000 gray whales make a 10,000-mile round-trip journey from Alaska to the lagoons of Baja California and back. You can often see them traveling alone or in small groups of two or three. On any given day you may even get a show from a majestic humpback whale or pod of wild orcas.
